We were excited to realize that state and city parks (with the exception of playgrounds) are still open! Mounds Park in Anderson is still open without a fee too. I was a bit nervous wondering how strict the "essential travel only" recommendation was but after we arrived and I saw how many other people were there I wasn't nervous anymore. Mounds was almost as packed as a summer day and it was in the 30's and grey.

Don't let the weather keep you away! Winter hikes are awesome for off-trail adventures (just be respectful and don't let a naturalist see you!). and the early spring greens are delicious. Here is Josh having a little garlic mustard snack. Speaking of which - check back at the blog in a couple weeks because we will be doing a virtual wild edible walk for everyone stuck at home. We planned to do a group, in -person walk but the city parks have recommended that folks enjoy the outdoors in groups of less than 10.
